Aspen Ladd
Aspen Ladd began her journey to combat sports at age of 14. She was trained in boxing, kickboxing wrestling, and BJJ. She made her first amateur appearance at 18, at WCFC in a fight against Jaimee Nievera. Ladd became more confident after this win and won 3 bouts in Ultimate Reno Combat. Her opponents were all defeated during the first round. Following that, she travelled to WCFC again and beat Leslie Rodriguez in a unanimous decision. Aspen had already defeated Silvia Baeghian as well as Maddy Simmons, before taking on Cynthia Calvillo. Cynthia outclassed Aspen and swept her away in unanimous decision to put a blemish on Ladd's amateur record. Ladd defeated Roma Pawelek on Tuff n Uff to improve her amateur record to 8-1. Aspen started her professional career in 2015after signing with Invicta FC for her professional debut. Invicta Aspen fought Ana Carolina Vidal in Invicta '11 and she won by one-round TKO. The next time she fought, she won against Amanda Cooper via second-round armbar submission. She then fought at Bantamweight for her next fight at Invicta FC 16. Aspen used her wrestling expertise to take out McGill via TKO in the third round (elbows and punches). Aspen was then in a fight with Jessica Hoy in Invicta FC 18, at weight of catchweight (138.1lb) As Ladd had missed weight. Despite this, Aspen was able to dominate Hoy. Aspen won her fight with a TKO after the second round. Invicta FC 21, she took her victory in the final bout of the promotion via a unanimous vote. Aspen Ladd was the first UFC fighter to debut. She took on Linalansberg in UFC Fight Night 118. She dominated Lina through ground-and-pound and won the TKO round at the end of the second. She repeated her dominance and racked up an amazing victory in her subsequent match against Tonya Evinger in UFC 229. Ladd beat Evinger with a punch during the first round and was awarded the Performance of the Night bonus. Invicta FC's Sijara Ebanks was her opponent for an rematch of UFC Fight Night dos Anjos against Lee. This was Ladd's debut major fight. Both fighters fought a close fight that Ladd was victorious by a majority decision. The two fighters each received the Fight of the Night Bonus. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie stopped Ladd's winning streak within 16 seconds. After a short break after which she went on to beat Yana Kunizkaya in UFC's ESPN 7 third-round fight. In a match that was a replacement in the UFC, Norma Dumont was her opponent. She was beaten by a unanimous verdict.
