Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue The. Ellis Taylor, American actor and producer. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies from Brown University and an MFA in Acting from the Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue was born in the United States and is an American actor as well as a producer and director. She works in television and film. Her acting journey began as a theater actress and then appeared in numerous TV shows and independent as well as mainstream films. The actress gained fame as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and was a part of BET's epic series The Book of Negroes for that she was not only rewarded with high praise but also numerous nominations and awards including a Television Critics Choice Award nomination for the Best Actress in a Movie. In 1995 she appeared in her first performance in The Tempest as Ariel. Her stage credits comprise Come and Gone Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production by Joe Turner. In the film industry, she's best known for roles such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. For her work on television she's been recognized for her performance in the role of a character who is a regular on ABC's drama about cops High Incident.
